I'm sorry? What does that mean?

Why can't we have a discussion on this? Why, when pressed, do you resort to 'Chill out bro'? (Which you've done twice now)

You're more than willing to engage when you think you're right. But when challenged? When seriously pressed into prove your case, *THIS* happens. All I'm asking for you to prove that what you've claimed is true. If GMOs really are that bad, it should be easy, right?

(I edited the post you quoted to appear less impolite. My apologies.)

    Then prove it!

You can... 'not reply', if you don't want to talk.

I want to be reasoned with. To have my mind changed if I'm wrong. If you have the silver bullet for anti-GMO arguments? I want to know!

The number of dirty tactics that you're pulling needs to end here.

    - You've lied about the apparent lack of evidence that I've submitted *and* the apparent lack of scientific consensus on this issue.

    - Then, you deny that you have a Burden of Proof, and have yet to concede that you in fact do.

    - Third, you've asked me multiple times for evidence. Every time, I've provided some. You havn't responded to a single word.

    - Finally, you refuse to present any evidence yourself, and spin this entire disagreement as a battle of 2 stubborn closed-minded people.

You need to stop this. Because this conversation is not flattering for you. Either tell us why you are, "Completely and 100% against GMO foods" because "They are harmful to human beings", or exit the conversation cordially. But I won't stop asking for ways to solve disagreements like this in a productive manner.

you seem very desperate. It's not worth it because it's a debate. If you keep this up, I swear to god I will report you for forum spam.

You're threatening to report me for spamming, because I want you to explain why you think GMOs are bad? Or more importantly, that I'm persisting in my desires for a productive conversation here? (In the 'debates' section of the forum)

I guess the ship has set sail.

I'll make it easy for you. Blocked.

You aren't trying to explain anything, it's as if you are trying to be annoying. I have told you many times to stop, but you didn't listen. I don't care if you can see this or not, stop means stop.

I stated my answer and he annoyingly tried to prove me wrong. this literally went from a simple debate, to an argument when it didn't have to be. How irritated would you be if someone didn't stop annoying you? I told him to stop, yet again, this guy is known for starting arguments.

His name is the TheDebatheist well, it's close to it at least. This is in the debates section, and debates have two sides usually, 1 belief vs. 1 belief and information to back them up. TheDebatheist couldn't have written as much as he did in one post, without extending the debate. So he posted multiple times.

    You're being hypocritical.
You are the one that is refusing to explain your side. His side is quite clear and has valid points.
    ''chill'' isn't an argument. lol

I love debates! I just don't like it when someone targets me for not providing enough proof.

That's quite literally your job in a debate...

You weren't proving what you were talking about, while @TheDebatheist always proves his arguments by providing enough evidence and reasoning. There's nothing wrong with that. At all. That's probably the main purpose of debates, which is to prove your argument by being credible, providing evidence, and including your reasoning.

Trust me, No one does, Including me occasionally. It's the meds. I'm on Vyvanse which is a neuro stimulant to help me focus on tasks. However, when I'm on these meds, the effect is quite similar to being high. And yes I have tried "grass". Vyvanse is made from a drug called, "Lysdexamfetamine Dimesylate", which is a part of the "Amphetamine" class of drugs. It's also a popular street drug, because of the high you get. I can explain the high, feeling like you constantly crave information and learning new interesting things. The dose I'm on is powerful enough to make me want to write a book about how I feel, or what I'm interested in. I come on the forums because it's almost like a therapeutic relief for me. A good example of me on these meds; is me writing about what drugs I'm on, which really is nobody's business, and I know that. The worst part about me when I'm not on my meds, is feeling like no one understands nor cares how you feel. I know people don't care how I feel, and I can understand that. now I have told you that I have been on meds before @Muunkee - Alexia, It is a huge relief to be able to vent right now, even though I know that no one will probably care. I can literally write about this forever. I only want people to understand how I feel. I know that sounds Emo, but I can promise you that I am 100% not Emo. So yeah, take into mind that I am "high" right now as I'm writing this, and truth is, I would never write about this stuff if I wasn't on my meds.

I know he was trying to prove his point, but every time I said stop, he kept replying with more proof about how he is right and I am wrong. I have learned about GMOs in the past and I have written a "fake" response on them in school. By fake, I mean that it was just a random situation the teacher gave us, which was that the kitchen that made the food for the cafeteria in our school began using ingredients that contained GMOs to prevent insects from eating them, so the assignment was to write a persuasive essay to the principal to explain that the kitchen was using GMOs in the food, and we had to tell her why GMOs are bad or good and why. If you chose to go against GMOs (which I did), you had to try to persuade her to end partnership with the kitchen that made the food for the cafeteria. I specifically remember giving my response the title "No GMOs!". this was back in grade 9.

Why were you asking for him to stop in the first place? He wasn't doing anything wrong.

I'm not saying what he did was bad, I know he meant well, but it got a bit irritating since he kept pestering me when I told him to stop in the first place. I'm never stated that he was wrong, it's his opinion, and I can respect that, but I don't appreciate when people shove their words down my throat, because that's what it felt like.

XxGedaviamanxX v TheDebatheist! Coming to a theater near you! ;)

Anyway, to drop my little egg on the topic here, I believe the idea of GMO's is revolutionary, and a great idea. As with most revolutionary ideas, people can have a hard time accepting them. Unfortunately, the problem in the system is humans, as some try to exploit it to make cash for themselves. The human factor can ruin it.

We've actually covered the green revolution in school recently, and some facts I can remember are:
    Positive:
    • Thanks, to GMO plants, farm productivity has increased a LOT.
    • Plants can grow in drier regions than before.
    • Plants can grow faster than usual.
    Negative:
    • GMO seeds cost much more than usual.
    • Farmers have to buy new seeds each harvest, they can't use what they grew.
