Helper Application from adlovesdogs

if you cry for hours because of a staff application on a minecraft server, you literally (not joking) need mental help

 

Though I might be the odd one out, I quite really think that you would fit the staff team well enough at the moment. For instance, as of right now you are decently active, helpful, and dedicated. Normally, the during the few times I pop in every now and then this month, I always see you in shout, mainly chatting away or sometimes helping newer players. It might be because we are in the same timezones, Mountain Time Zone, but still, even if we weren't, I'm sure I would see you every now and then. Additionally, you've been very dedicated towards becoming a staff member again, whether it being commenting on others applications, helping others out, or simply just being active all of the time. However, too much dedication can be bad, because it can sometimes cloud your judgement until you reach that goal, or not listening to others because you want to get there that much. Furthermore, you were a past staff, having knowledge of how most things work in staff, excluding the new things that were changed. It takes a while to learn all of the new information and keep it all in your head, as I experienced myself. Even if you were much worse as a staff member than before, you still had prior knowledge, and I believe that you've improved.

On the other hand, I feel as though you are condescending. In example, as others have already mentioned before my post, you always comment on other's applications that they wouldn't fit well in the staff team, but you yourself also need improvement. It might be just me nitpicking at the tiniest things, but you always seem- or at least used to seem like you were above others. I haven't really been too active lately, so I'm in no position to say all of this. Also, I felt as though your application was only on par with some of the others. There were a few minor errors here and there, but nothing too large. The main reason as to why I thought it wasn't above average is because of the weaknesses. Teamspeak is an issue for many younger people such as you or I, and many people have a lack of patience. To be honest, I think that you have more weaknesses than just those two, and they were also different than before. If you didn't have any patience problems just a few months ago, I don't really see why you would have any of them now.

When I look at your past application, it's easy for me to say that you were overconfident about everything. As for me, I was always unconfident about myself, and didn't really think I would make it into myself. I needed more confidence, but having too much, like you, makes you seem a bit snobbish (Maybe an overexaggeration). In addition to your application, it seems like you started out all of the sentences with "I am" or "I was" or "I will". Albeit it might not be much of a big deal, it seems a bit unprofessional.

Anyways, despite all of the bad things about you and the -1 comments towards you, I'm giving you a +1. Don't make me regret it.

Before you got helper the first time, I never saw you helping anyone in shout. The only instances where you used shout came when you advertised your shop or advertised dicing. My only experience with you came when you sold me a PhoenixPuppy for 25k; after discovering who he is you proceeded to spam me with messages about how I was such a bad person, etc. etc.

While you were helper, you were not helpful, condescending, argumentative, and rude. I remember a large argument in shout, where you insulted @Mockingbae and started calling him names--on your first day of getting helper. While you seemed to have a high modreq count, many players complained about you not being thorough in completing your modreqs, and you seemed to view helper as a stepping stone between player and moderator. Additionally, many of your kicks and tempbans seemed rude, unprofessional, and motivated by personal bias.

After you were demoted, I saw a change in you. I really believe that you saw the mistakes you were making and took steps to remedy them. I see you in shout helping players frequently, and you are not nearly as condescending ingame as you once were. However, your attitude on the forums is slightly concerning to me, as you're not active outside of staff applications, and all you post is something along the lines of: "You're rude, immature, and not ready for staff. Work on these things and you have my +1." Your posts convey the feeling that you are God, and your vote is more important than that of everyone else--egotistical behavior is not a sign of a good candidate. Statements like these don't serve a purpose as you don't display the means for which a player can improve on their shortcomings. Likewise, if you get helper, you may just point out peoples' faults or problems and not help them reach the desired goal. Another of my concerns is that you may succumb to the pressure of criticism, and have another meltdown where you insult players in shout. Such behavior is not acceptable for a staff member. I will give you credit for taking the rude commments on this application with dignity and without resorting to arguing or insulting; however I think this behavior needs to be the norm from you, as opposed to the exception.

In order to fit my vision of a good helper, I believe you should work on improving your patience, swallowing your ego, and paying less attention to peer pressure. This can start even in your real life--at school, with your family, etc.

Good luck, but -1. Remember, time heals old wounds, and I think you can be a viable candidate in the future.

Mockbae is saying -1 to adlove, but he was banned a while ago, so he can't comment on Apps cause he does not know if they are nice/active or rude/not active.

 

Being banned doesn't affect his/her opinions of someone. If you read some of the longer comments you will see ad argued with mocking the second he got staff. BTW, ranting at everyone commenting is helping ad loves improve just as much as an empty post.

As for my opinion, I see you as a really negative person, I see some of your comments as rude (although you probably don't intend it that way; that's how it came across to me). Your app was good, as is your in game activity, I just don't like how you seem bigger then everyone on forums.

Because I see you trying to improve I will keep a neutral vote, good luck.

Just a little fyi; I have been banned for a little over two weeks. A person does not change in two weeks, and don't forget I am watching the forums and adloves after many people saying it still has not changed the way he handles people on their staff applications.

Before I give you my vote, I want you to know I don't hate you
Although I can't say I remember you as a staff member, (whenever that was) I can't say I've heard the best things about.
Now, with a majority of the votes being -1 that doesn't really leave a good taste in my mouth, but I'm also weary of people's opinions.

Just what I can say right off the bat is, I think some things that could be worked on would be global chat activity/teamspeak activity.

I don't really feel like I'm in the position to give my opinion of your maturity, but I can say it can't be as bad as people have said it is on this forum.

As for my vote I'm going to give this a +/--.
