Introduction: I absolutely love ice cream; I love every aspect of it, from its unique body and texture to the plethora of flavors available. I love the flavor varieties that ice cream can encompass, the bitter-sweetness of black raspberry with chocolates, to the tang of a mango peach sorbet. Never quite the picky one – I can even appreciate the deceptively simple yet surprisingly delicious vanilla ice cream.

As a youth I thought I was an expert in all areas related to dessert. When my family went out to eat I would patiently sit through appetizers and wholly eat every last bite of my main course, all the while knowing that a new and possibly delectable dessert awaited me at the end. I would try cheesecakes, shortcakes, pies, and my favorite: ice cream. With each bite the fate of the restaurant would be held on a string; regardless of how well everything else went, the dessert would determine whether it would pass or fail in my expectations. Often I found these desserts to be the same mundane replicas of each other; and hardly exquisite enough for the hefty price attached. So, I resolved that in order to achieve the best dessert experience I would need to get creative; I’d have to make my own desserts.

This resolution lead me to an important discovery for myself; I love creativity. With each ‘genius’ idea for the nights dessert I would find myself excited; excited to devour the finished product, and as equally excited to use my resources as far as my imagination would allow. As I anxiously combined vanilla, fruits, chocolate, sugar, and creams to make my ‘not-so-perfect’ creations I imagined myself as a Van Gogh or Picasso. Each dessert was a blank canvas for me to express my artistic aptitudes; adding color to the palette through a mix of ingredients. I felt as though I could surpass any flavor limitations by creatively devising my own. Even when my ideas failed (as they mostly did) I would learn something more about both cooking and myself alike.

Now, as a young adult, I can visualize the creativity in all of my endeavors. When I write prose I form a dancing assemblage of words and phrases all eager to mingle. In mathematics, where formulas and theorems can often be manipulated into new ideas, creativity is the driving force for solving old problems and understanding new ones. Creativity is a factor that turns the mundane into a living entity- unique all its own. Creativity grants me the freedom escape from a monotonous world to one where I create the rules, letting my imagination run free.

Why should you be Helper? Why? That has always been the question that drives the human race. “Why do birds fly? Why is the sky blue? Why should Deljikho become a helper?” These are all good questions and I think I can answer at least one of them for you guys. I believe I am completely competent to perform well on the staff team; I have the Creativity, Experience, Respect, Patience, Stability, and an Aptitude for Learning to do a good job. I believe these as well as other characteristics would make me a suitable candidate for the role of ‘Helper’ and an asset to the staff team in general.

    • Experience – I was a helper on this server for a bit over 2 months, almost one year ago. In those 2 months I learned a multitude of new stuff, from staff commands to skype norms. Much of what I had to learn was technical, but the most important aspects were personal. Two important aspects of that included: how to work as a team member, and how to properly interact with players. Initially I hadn’t realized how much of a team the staff really is, I wasn’t ready for it at first yet embraced it whole heartedly. I know how to work with other staff members to solve conflicts, to discuss issues and resolutions, and to appreciate each other for the help that is constantly being given.

When I was a helper last I was always exploring creative ways to perform hawkeye commands. I would try to find the limitations and dimensions that the staff tools could provide. I was able to use this to perform some ‘Mod’ duties as a Helper. I was exploring how to catch x-rayers, duplicators, and basically see how far I could encompass my abilities. Some cases involve creative thinking, searching for clues that may not be obvious or even seem likely; finding ways to ensure that a proper job is done 100% of the time.

Modreqs are an important part of the staff job; and I’ve learned how to handle them extremely well, in my opinion. From the introduction ‘til they have confirmed that every one of their needs/questions is satisfied, I ensure that my modreqs are thorough and pleasant for the player. I make sure that I’m not idle or playing around when there are modreqs waiting in queue.

    • Professionalism - I try to be professional in everything that I do. I believe that anything worth doing is definitely worth doing right. When dealing with modreqs, player reports, or anything of the sort, I ensure that I am thorough and precise. When a penalty is administered I give exact calculations on refunds to be given and proper punishments issued. If possible I check the rules 2 or 3 times to make sure that no mistakes are made. I made a habit of following Andrew's advice to always file a report before issuing a punishment, in case any last second mistake had been made.

    • Friendliness and Respect – These are two qualities that I strive to show towards every person I meet, whether it be online or in person. I treat all players with fairness, and equally, no matter what the circumstances may be. I believe the staff represent Meep, and I have no doubt that I can help make that representation as a Courteous/Helpful/Professional community.

    • Patience – I have no trouble with being a patient person. This is to avail as a staff member; there are often players that need more guidance than others. I can take my time slowly walking players towards steps that will help them with their problems. I’m also never ‘in a rush’ I try to remain patient and calm during most task, which allows me to remain focused and collected

    • Stability – Last time I was a Helper I had to resign due to work/school overload. I had started an internship, which led to a part-time 2nd job. I wasn’t able to devote the hours to Meep that I felt was necessary so I resigned. Now my 2nd job has turned into my only full-time employment, coupled with a few classes. I have a very stable schedule and don’t intend on it to change for months. This means that I finally have the necessary time to be a dutiful staff member, as well as the foresight to know that I can remain a dutiful staff member for much longer.

    • Aptitude for Learning – I’m very eager to learn new things. I was intimidated when I had to learn Hawkeye, but now I anticipate the challenge of learning Prism. I have no doubt that I can learn all of the Prism commands efficiently and in-depth. I’m very adaptable to new changes, and am ready to embrace any changes that may have been implemented in the year that I’ve been away from staff.

What are your weaknesses? There is nothing wrong with having a weakness: Even the Greek Hero Achilles had a weakness. The difference lies in knowing your weaknesses and the best way to match your strengths to overcome them. Like Achilles I have some weaknesses, unlike Achilles they probably won’t get me killed by a Sun God.

    • Teamspeak – This is my biggest weakness. I know how to use teamspeak, I know enough to help other players guide teamspeak, and I know that some of the best ways to get help is through teamspeak. My problem with teamspeak is that I share a house with 2 other roommates. Between the 3 of us there is almost always guests over, music playing, or something loud and annoying going on. Because of this I don’t think I’ll be on teamspeak very frequently, but I am looking into alternative solutions. For instance I can keep my teamspeak user logged on so that way if anyone has important matters they can simply poke/message me and I can retreat to my room and reply to them personally. I’ll also definitely be logged onto teamspeak and actively participating in group discussions anytime my roommates are away, whether it be for an hour or a weekend.

    • Prism – I know absolutely nothing about Prism, I’ve heard that there’s over 30,000 commands and I’ll need to learn them all from the basics. I know this isn’t a big problem since I’ll be given a crash course in commands but I would like to state that my current Prism knowledge is 0.

    • Immaturity – Generally I am a very mature player. I know when to be serious and handle my priorities. My roommates actually call me “Debby Downer and the Fun Police” because I’m a bit too serious in real life (and it sounds like an awesome band name). However on Meepcraft, mainly in /g, I can act immature sometimes, I believe it’s arisen from my seriousness irl and my escape to meepcraft allowing me to break down the ‘too strict’ stigma. I don’t think this has even been a problem for anyone but I’ve realized it and I know that sometimes it comes in excess. I’m ensuring that my feigned immaturity doesn’t conflict with any serious duties I have and that it won’t be very frequent.

    • Activity – I’m not even sure if this is a weakness but it’s best to be informative now. On my absolutely busiest days I should still be able to log in game for 3-4 hours. Last time I was Helper I was able to log in for 12+ but unfortunately my schedule doesn’t allow for that anymore. The majority of my days let my play between 4-6 hours throughout the week days, while weekends are completely free. This doesn’t really seem like much to me but I compare that to my 12 hour days last time. And, as stated above, I’m very much more stable this time around. I’ll spend my limited in-game hours trying to be as dutiful as possible and almost always have access to Skype and Forums, even if I’m at work or in class I will have forums/skype chat enabled and useable.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: I'm pretty awesome.
