All my stock is off the Vshop! If anyone want to see my rig I used to capture 12K seeds in 15 seconds I would love to show it off. Those of you who have 100K of items you have my sympathy.

I believe this update is a new age of MeepCraft. Yes, that sounds pretty cheesy, but this really is! This changes economic flow a ton. This is ingenious. Fuzzlr, the developing team, and the staff team have worked so hard to get MeepCraft to what it is today. All the updates just made the first 2 months and a few days of this year are amazing! Bravo fuzzlr!

Im not exactly sure how to respond to this. Sure the old Vshop is unique but it did have flaws. Now this new Vshop is now different from the real world and mostly unrealistic ( in the real world). This system is great as it stop monopolies but it can make people super rich still. For example, if hornemans own 1,000,000 bow (which is more than likely) he can sell all of it at the set price. This means he instantly get a ton of money. Even if it goes down to .1 meebles, he'll still make a good amount of money (1,000,000 x .1=100,000) this 100k probably wouldnt have ever happened with the old Vshop because nobody would buy that much bows and many other people would sell as well, beating hornemans prices. Also this may be good for new players to instantly getting money for their work. This system has its good and bads but over all, I think this change might do some good for the server

Yes but if his bows were cheapest on vshop they would sell eventually

    But I partially agree

New vshop is way better though!:)

WHY DON'T WE ALL JUST WAIT AND SEE WHAT HE HAS PLANNED. HE NEVER SAID WHAT THE STARTING PRICES WILL BE. A FREAKING SAPLING MIGHT START AT $.50 OR SOMETHING. WE DON'T KNOW YET.

REGARDING THINGS SUCH AS DIAMONDS, EVEN IF A BUNCH OF PEOPLE DUMPED LOTS OF DIAMONDS INTO THE MARKET, THEY'LL BE BOUGHT OUT EVENTUALLY. I'M WILLING TO BET THAT THERE'S SEVERAL THOUSAND, POSSIBLY OVER 10,000 DIAMONDS BEING BOUGHT EVERY DAY.

SO STOP ASSUMING ALL THIS NONSENSE AND WAIT AND SEE AND STOP CRYING.

yes, but transactions are immediate. I use the shop as a storage space, rather than buying back items. That is what i will miss - being able to sell something for 100 meebles that is normally .01 meebles, than cancel it instead of buying it back or investing on chests in my tiny plot which is reserved for a garden.

Btw, I have an expanded vocabulary and everything you are saying makes perfect sense to me. I'm not some person that doesn't understand words. My name is "bookreader", and having a name as embarrassing as that shows that I would have at least some knowledge of proper grammar and a good vocabulary.
Price will fluctuate, but what I meant was me crashing the market. Say for example eggs are on the shop for 2 meebles. I notice that eggs are being bought up so rapidly that every time I do /find egg many are gone. So, I buy out jeffhills (persay, just using his name for the example) stock of 1000 eggs for 2 meebles, and put them on shop for 10 meebles. Then, I buy out all the eggs from everyone else that is selling them for less than 10 meebles. Soon I am dominating the egg market, my eggs are being bought up by the hundred, and I am making a profit of an extra 8 meebles per egg. This may not be a lot to many other meepers, but I have done this so many times that my total profits from "ripping" people off (buying their items cheaply, re-selling their items for a higher price) would be about 80k. I have done this so many times that it is not even funny.
Next you said that you were closing /warp shop. I frequently visit those shops, and do something that makes me sometimes just some extra cents. Cobble, Dirt, Stone, Sand, Gravel, and Redstone are all 1 meeble in the citizen shops. I buy those items from the V-Shop for less than one meeble (Up to $0.99) and Re-Sell them. I make money, the people I buy from make money, and the items go to the server. I do make more of a profit than the sellers, but I am a "Profit Person". I buy and sell, buy and sell, rarely Pvp-ing because of the lack of profit in that margin. Nobody buys used gear.
Lastly, I do not mean to be rude Fuzzlr. I just wanted to defend myself, my point, and my lack of showing my ideas clearly in chat. My computer is glitching, and I can't place my cursor in-between words, I can only highlight them. I just beg that you accept my pre-apology if any of this is rude, offensive, or unpleasant to anyone in any way. I just wanted to show my pont. Thank's for your precious time, Meep. :)

I'm not sure what to think of this yet. It combines the market fluctuations and convenience of vshop with the guaranteed sales and availability of the admin shops. My first reaction was thinking that it's a great idea! But some people have raised valid concerns about exploitation and whether the prices the MeepShop settles on will be fair/make sense. I don't know enough about how it will work to figure those out.

There's also been much argument over whether this resembles the "real world." I'm not sure that matters, as long as it works in a Minecraft economy. But I'll try to make a comparison. The vshop is kind of like a flea market, or a series of very small independent businesses. Individuals buy and sell to each other, and both sides are very competitive - buyers shop around to find the best deals (on vshop this is actually forced), and sellers adjust their prices and their stock to attract those buyers while still making the most money that they can.

The new MeepShop, if I'm understanding it right, seems like more of a wholesale system. It's as if sellers are all suppliers for one giant retail store like Walmart. If overall demand for an item goes up, the store will pay more for it, and charge its customers more to buy it. If the supply of that item gets too high, and the market is flooded with people selling $10 cobblestone, demand will be low because everyone has cobblestone and no-one wants to pay $10 for it. So the store will lower the price and pay its suppliers less, because the item is not as valuable. If supply of something is low, like diamond horse armor or whatever, then buyers will pay more for that rare item, indicating high demand. And round and round we go. :) Edit to clarify: Prices won't just be based on how common or rare an item is, but also on the value that players give to it by buying. Cobblestone is generally more useful than dirt, for example, so it will likely continue to have a higher value.

Sellers will no longer compete with each other directly, which does take some fun out of the MeepShop. But they can still use strategy and timing to make more than other people, by changing what they mine or craft and sell based on the market. They also will be able to have a steady-ish source of income - but not as steady as the admin shops - and they won't have to deal with having a stock of thousands of items that no-one buys.

In a similar way, I think competition among sellers will still exist via chest shops, because savvy shop owners can keep track of price trends to figure out which items to put "on sale" and which ones they can sell for a premium. It might actually be easier to compete with the MeepShop this way, because you can "outsmart" it to some extent by predicting what's going to happen, and individual sellers wouldn't be able to undersell you (unless they run their own chest shops). That's just speculation (guessing) on my part, but it would be easy to do some research and find out how it will work. If this type of system is as common as people are saying, then why not take a look now and learn about the way other servers handle it? To those who are already familiar with it - beyond just declaring this a good or bad idea, or comparing it to the current vshop, can you tell us more about how this type of shop seems to work on other servers? Can players with chest shops still make money (not necessarily get "rich," but make a decent profit), and if so, how?

And... fuzzlr, please feel free to tell me if I'm way off the mark here. I'm not an economist, I just play one on MeepCraft! :D

This obviously comes from someone who's rich in-game. (Yes, I'm jealous! ;)) Just because you don't have a use for iron and diamonds doesn't mean that most players don't. Why do you think they're so valuable on vshop? (Ignoring the effect of the 20% reduction for the moment, because that would make this even more complicated.) As for gold, I'm assuming that the bank will still be around unless we hear otherwise. Diamonds and gold are also relatively rare items, so even if their prices go down on the new MeepShop, they won't crash below the value of items that are far more common.
You used the biggest and most colorful font! Clearly, that means your post is the most important and correct.

This is a good point. :( I guess fuzzlr could argue that the vshop was never meant to be used this way.

Forgot to explain how I think this will impact us when we're buying stuff, not just selling. Buyers will no longer be able to find those super-cheap deals that happen when players randomly sell things on MeepShop for way less than they're worth. :( But they'll also no longer have to deal with not being able to buy an item when it's too hard to find (like spiderwebs or something), hardly anyone bothers to sell it (like saplings), or when someone has bought out all the affordable supply (like cake recently). Part of me wants to say that truly rare items (that fit in the first example) should stay rare, but I guess as long as the wild resets on a regular basis, that won't happen anyway.

I don't think the price of valuable minerals will plummet and crash - in order for that to happen, they would have to be 1) very easy to find and/or 2) considered by most players to be not worth buying at a high price. But it sounds like this could regulate the market for those items in a similar way to how the bank regulates gold prices, just without as much direct control. I'm not sure what exactly that will look like for iron, diamonds, and other higher-priced items. It could be good or bad... but I don't think it will be a disaster unless it's somehow exploited.

As for megafarms and such, well... I actually do feel bad for those who have worked hard on huge projects based on clever ideas to make Meebles. This kind of sucks for them. But I think the change will encourage more creativity and clever thinking, which makes for more fun gameplay. Farms can diversify their operations to make sure they don't "crash" the market by devaluing a particular item. They can also move their sales from the admin shops to a chest shop, opening a storefront (customers can always turn around and resell discounted items, but not for dirt-cheap because they don't want to lose what they paid for it). Again, I'm not sure I'm getting this right, but that's how I understand it. :)
