Mar 26, 2014: MeepShop Major Update

I built a 40 chest hopper system to capture all my Vshop items. It may have been slightly overkill but I kept my 12k seeds.

To MaxximusDavid's point Once you hit Elite you don't really need diamonds the way you used to (thanks to /fix) Especially if you don't PVP. I have 1 diamond suit for wild protection and a diamond tool of each type maxed out to God stats. After that it's all gravy (Says the guy with 2 stacks of Diamond Blocks).

The only thing I buy Ironingots for is to flip them. Or turn into hoppers.

 

That does make sense, but what percentage of people who play on the server are Elite+? If iron and diamonds were going to crash, I think they would have crashed already on vshop. But they haven't (again, ignoring the 20% reduction for now just to make things simpler), so obviously they still have value to the player base in general. I do agree that these prices will probably go down in the short term, but it's just hard for me to believe they will plummet drastically. Is the market for minerals really that dependent on the admin shops?

That doesn't mean everyone else only buys iron ingots for those two reasons. They're part of the crafting recipes of many items. Players can use those items themselves, or they can sell them on the MeepShop for people who are mining in the wild and are sometimes too lazy to craft more supplies (like me ). To me, iron is incredibly useful as a durable tool and armor material when I don't want to risk losing diamond equipment (working around lava, high falls, etc.). But then, diamonds are still precious to me, haha.

I believe the Diamond and Iron markets are as high is direction attributed to Gold market is eternally fixed around 400 meebles per piece. If Gold is 400 there's no reason that Diamonds should be 300 because they're harder to find ind wild. I have always wondered why our bank item isn't Diamonds If they set Diamonds at 600 meebles I think econ would be much better. Gold would drop to 200 or so per piece but I think Iron would be back down to 50ish and most everything else would remain constant. I'm honestly more concerned with how will they keep the program running for the first 20 minutes because you know hornemans and a few others are likely hoarding tons of items right no waiting for the ball to drop. The 15th will be a mad rush to sell and I'm worried that if I miss it I will be left with all my items being worthless.

 

This is pretty much going to be hundreds of mini 'stocks', I like it.

 

so basically you can only sell these items for a posted price and not for a cent like i usually do?

Yes but it depends on the demand on how much they give you for the item.

 

Actually a bad idea. The more you sell, the less it's worth.

In my opinion, it should use the same commands as before. /find has been very well and no problems. But if it helps the server, I'm all for it!

This sounds like it is going to suck.

The current shop is way better...

 

You won't have to worry about having loads of random junk in your hand anymore, anything that can be sold at a raid, drop party, etc. can be sold via /sellhand

 

Anything good to buy or not sell before the update?
