Ah, so the world is filled with MANY things that cause long-term mental health degradation? Marijuana would be part of thousands of things we consume that effect us negatively?

Marijuana isn't a gateway drug. Idiots that smoke a gram a day will eventually stop feeling the high, then yeah, they'll mess around with stronger stuff. Long-term, it is better for your body than alcohol and cigarettes, it doesn't destroy families (unless you overuse) like alcohol can, and it's chill af. Besides, minors will more likely than not use less marijuana if it is legalized. The main reason people want to do illegal things is because it's illegal (i.e., prohibition and the rise in alcohol consumption during that time).

I am neutral on this topic however I would like to point out that this is false. One blunt put's as much tar into your system as 10 cigarettes. On top of that chemically altered versions of weed such as dabs have chemicals such as butane that can cause serious health risks. There have actually been more cases of weed labs blowing up this year due to incorrect use of butane than meth labs. On top of that it is not possible to overdose through smoking weed, however it is possible to overdose on edibles. There have been many cases of people taking too much of a concentrated amount of THC, getting an irregular heart beat, and then suffering from an irregular heart beat, which can lead to heart attack or other related ailments. There is also discussion as to whether it created fats in the blood stream that can clog arteries in the brain and other vital areas. That being said, I believe if used improperly weed has the potential to be just as dangerous as alcohol and it is unfair to say that cigarettes are more dangerous.

If ibuprofin was used irresponsibly it also had the potential to be just as dangerous.

There has never been a death from Marijuana overdose.

It's clear you didn't fully read my statement because I said this, I know you can't overdose on smoking marijuana. But you can still die if you eat too much of a concentrated amount of THC which is usually the result of homemade edibles with improper or inaccurate measurements. It also seems that you completely disregarded my argument about the danger of the smoke when your body consumes marijuana. I'm not some major anti-marijuana guy, frankly I don't care how much you mess up your body. Just don't spread misinformation about marijuana being the safest thing out there, because it's not.

There has been no recorded deaths due to the overdose of Marijuana, or edibles containing THC. The only recorded cases of death involving Marijuana (Edibles in this case) is regarding people being too high and doing stupid things, like jumping off buildings.

The amount of THC you would need to die is about 20,000 to 40,000 times the amount contained in a normal joint. The LD50 of THC is 1:20,000 or 1:40,000. To reiterate, a consumer would need to consume about 1,500 pounds of Marijuana within 15 minutes to achieve this. The amount of THC needed to accomplish this would equate to roughly 666mg/kg to 1260mg/kg depending on the study. A 200 lb person would need to consume roughly 66,600 MG to 126,000 MG to THC to die from THC.

Your point about inhalation of smoke is rather trivial, considering there are alternative ways to consume Marijuana which avoids this effect entirely, but yes, of course inhaling ANY burnt material is unhealthy, that seems like simple common sense.

Do you have any further misconceptions you need cleared up? I want to reiterate NO DEATHS have EVER been recorded due to Marijuana, CBD, or THC.

This drug kills hundreds of people each month. Maybe even thousands, so choosing marijuana is ur decision but If i were u i would not do it. Last year an eighth grader at my school died from marijuana. It is really serious. He was found in his mom's back yard dead and he had a seizure.

There are absolutely no records of marijuana being the cause of any death
The link between seizures and the drug has been studied but there is no real proof and the correlation is only slight

Actually, the world is only full of a few things that cause the brain to experience unnatural amounts of dopamine. Marijuana, of those few, is near the top in the rate at which your brain begins to stop feeling happiness and excitement.

That's not necessarily correct. While yes it absolute does contribute and perhaps is a larger than most contribution as I assume the study your talking about is suggesting that. However many, many items also contribute to the release of dopamine in the brain. Chemicals such as Omega 3 has been linked to dopamine release, namely found in fish. Tyrosine has been linked to dopamine release, found in foods such as eggs, beets or bananas to name just a few. Apples contain quercetin, which is linked to help depression and release dopamine.

The argument you're making, in my opinion, boils down to another "fact of life" that almost everything has a consequence and in moderation that consequence may be just fine. Marijuana, while largely unstudied, has already been theorized to help many aspects of a person's life, from physical to mental health - and acting as a tool to relax, like alcohol.

One dose of Heroin can leave you hooked for life. While I don't believe it's my responsibility to stop anyone, there is a lot wrong with it.

I want it to be legal because either way people are going to find a way to get it, what's the point in wasting all that time and effort trying to stop it.
DUI's will still happen legal, or illegal, people won't stop being stupid.
