Meepshop - Delay

The MeepShop was released yesterday.

 

crap guess i need to get online tonight now huh before all the good selling is done. Probably too late already...

 

And a load of dragon eggs got out. DO not buy one for 500k. 20k is better.

 

Personally, I think staff has done a wonderful & outstanding job adding the new shop & working on it. It's a very big project ( considering every player uses it & it pretty much runs the economy ). I am, ( as many of us are ) a little upset with the delay. I think they should have told us (IF the knew) the day of before the release date / time that it wasn't going to be released then. That would have prevented a lot of frustration I think. Same for the other delay. I know some of the delay may have been due to just staff limitations ( It's probably coding and stuff & not very many people may know how ) & funding for the server. I know I have not the slightest clue on how to even make a server, none the less make a shop on it for every one to use and I'm probably wrong on all that ^ BUT that doesn't matter now & we have a lovely new shop. <3 Now I can't wait for /sellall to be back up & working!

Thank you for your comprehension, @bbycakes2012. The delay was more because we didn't want to have to release a very buggy version just in order to fulfill our word. We are sorry for such.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, don't put a date in the mind of the population unless you are certain you can stick to that date. I spoke with a friend in game who works in the IT industry, he openly told me that even though his company may have internal deadlines on the release of products (websites, programs and the like) they never tell their customers about a product until it is quite literally about to be released - as in the next day. Sometimes the project is 4 months overdue when it finally becomes available, but the customers who would be affected/interested by its release were nonethewiser and as such experienced greater overall satisfaction with the final product. Do this, don't tell us and then fail to deliver on the date you told us - we'd all be much happier as a result.

I also do not profess to know the slightest thing about programming or running a business that is as personal and engaged with it's customers as a Minecraft server, I just think the management of the MeepShop release will serve as a lesson to the staff and devs more than anything else.

All of that said, I am very happy it's out now, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what effects it will have server-wide.
