This guy touches on the subject of 1.9 ruining PvP pretty well. I know most PvP servers won't update because this is an absolutely horrible idea of an update. I thought Mojang/Microsoft said that they were going to listen to the community?

What the hell were they thinking? I find it ironic that the "Combat Update" is going to ruin PvP! I haven't really been PvPing much lately, but this almost makes me want to quit the game altogether...

 

DO NOT UPDATE-

Even as a minority, pvpers do hold a share in this server. If you update I'll quit- and so will a bunch more people

I think rather than support this crappy new style of PvP, you should probably re-think your strategy..

 

It's not broken, your just bad at it.

 

This is coming from someone who is obviously not a PvPer and if you are, you aren't very good. Arrows were never an issue to anyone who has a decent strafe. Sorry to be blunt. You are happy that 1.9 will completely change PvP and remove the parts that took skill. What you call "spam clicking" is actually called Jitter Clicking and you want it removed because you cannot do it or haven't taken the time to do it. PvP isn't something that you are supposed to just be able to jump right into and automatically be good at, with 1.9, that is what it will be.

Please explain to me how 1.9 will have more strategy and take more skill?

Well if that's what you're hearing then you need to see a doctor.

In my opinion, I don't think we're worried about the effect this will have on our PvP skill, it's much more to the fact that it's making PvP a lot more dull and stupid. Now, I'm not quite sure how duel wielding is going to work, but won't this kind of ruin the whole point of hotkeying? And a few minor changes that were made in 1.8 already slightly ruined my PvP experience for me, I used to love the animation it would make when you left and right clicked at the same time to drink a pot and blockhitting looked cool. And not to mention the way you could make that cool looking animation when you right and left clicked the bow at the same time, EVEN though I hate the bow because I am so terrible at it, I just liked using the bow for the cool animation, and once again, they removed this for whatever reason which has made the bow even more boring for me.

Now PvP is just going to look dull and boring. Rip PvP, it was good... And then Microsoft happened...

 

Lmao I'm gald they're doing this. No more attack spammers. It would actually take skill now to get a kill.

 

By killing them, we are interrupting their music session of course

 

Most people on Meep don't even know how to record but instead say "wow you're a hacker and you suck" Like this is helping any... The few people I know who actually took the time to catch hackers was Fortevert and Nhjed when they were staff. Anyways, most of the good pvpers are the ones reporting them!

EDIT: Yes, I know there are many others like Metr0, Blu, and Legend etc. I appreciate you guys doing this for us skrubs.

 

By taking away the "spam click" (jitter click which takes practice to do while maintaining good aim) then where's the skill? Clicking once everyone 5 seconds.. Wow! Such an intense battle!!!11!

Sorry but you make it sound like zero strategy is needed. There's already strafing, there WAS block-hitting but that's pretty much removed now.

This update will remove strategy and skill. And replace it with skilled players being easily killed by newbies because there's no skill needed.

What's gonna be in the next update? Give everyone Aimbot?

Yeah good luck with having fun on Meep with the amount of hackers there are each day. Without the "annoying pvpers" you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between someone hacking and someone legit, and most of the "annoying pvpers" are the people who help get rid of the hackers, so yeah.. good luck with that "better community"
