To be honest though this is cool- I feel it would turn into a popularity contest.

So we all know that moderator applications have been removed. Since then, we have not had one helper promoted to moderator. I understand the staff team works very hard and is very preoccupied, but I've talked to another staff member about this and it looks like not much progress is being made at the moment.

    I have an idea though.

We, the community, have the right to make complaints about staff, and even sometimes file demotion requests. So why don't we get a section where we can file promotion requests?

The community has a big impact on the server, and I think it would be good if we still had some voice on the decision. So the idea is to make a forum section: Promotion Requests. So let's just say I feel that xShrek17 is doing an amazing job as helper and I really want them as mod. I can file a request to get them promoted. In the request, I will need to write at least 3 good reasons why they should be mod, and elaborate on them. You can also (if possible) make it that it has to be a certain amount of characters. That way when staff come to the decision making, they can see who they should promote and why. The same thing for supermods too.

I think this would really help with the promotions of mods and supermods, as staff can't see all, and the community may have great knowledge of the staff member and want them promoted.

    All responses appreciated :)

that's pretty much the same as how the staff recruitment process has always been

    but -1

there's no need for helpers to be promoted to mod so quickly, if none of them are being promoted then they obviously have enough mods as it is or the helpers aren't up to the standards of mod

I completely disagree with this. The opinion of the community has always been taken into account when making bigger decisions. Take this for example: The citizen tag was added because of community approval and then after it had been implemented it was taken out because of community disapproval. Your vote matters!
