New Years Resolutions

I haven't really been feeling up to this whole "2016, New Year, New Me!" stuff but ohwell, I could write a couple lines.

My New Years Resolutions;

- Stop spending so much money on fast-food, eat more at home with the family.
- Work harder, and start doing better in school. Graduate everything on time.
- Pass my drivers test and scavenge up enough change to buy a decent first car.
- Start helping dad and help out by paying him back for the big things. Be smarter.
- Travel this summer, meet new people, try new things, and find those who matter.
- Work up a motivation, find an inspiration, and get things done. Stop procrastinating so much.
- Don't go back to old, bad habits. Stick with the right crowd and clear the bad ones.

This is all I can think of for the time being. I'm going to write it all in an envelope and stash it away so at the end of the year, I can pull it out and see what I've all done. Maybe I'll have a 6-month check in to see how I'm doing. Shouldn't be too difficult if I stick my mind to it.

 

These resolutions are actually pretty legit. Especially food with the fam.

 

Umm.. Let me see..
My New Years Resolution is as follows :
- I wanna study harder and get selected into IIT.
- I wanna get 1st In Class This Semester....(I am tired of coming 2nd in class )
- I wanna get introduced to Javascript and Game Debeloping... ( Unity 3D is what I'm looking forward to)
- I maybe wanna get into YouTube and start a Minecraft channel probably...
- And I definetely wanna read many more books this year...

 

My resolution is to spend more time with my family, instead of going to friends houses when we're having a family dinner and such!

I dont feel like this is so much a resolution as just an in general goal but Ima draw more

I'm going to give up sugar for a few months.

 

My resolution has been exactly the same for 3 years and I've been doing pretty good at it. It's to not spend New Years Eve at a casino!

 

I have not been into the nyr but I thought I would give it a go to which I am cutting out soda/softdrinks nearly entirely. Have you got a resolution for the next year @madioson ?

 

My resolution is to not miss a single Saturday Night Stream

 

Practice piano at least 2.5 hours a day

 

I don't really do resolutions - well nothing formal at least, although my informal goals for next year include learning how to trad climb, code an iOS app and to procrastinate less (in other words, spend less time refreshing my Facebook feed).

I don't read much and I'm guessing you do, however this year I really enjoyed George Orwell's 'Nineteen Eighty-Four' as well as Harper Lee's 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. You've probably read them since they're classics but if you haven't - read them!

I really want to get my grades up next year, last semester was my worst of all time grade-wise D:

I want to stop missing so many school days and I want to stop being late everyday lol

 

I don't really know what you like to read, which genres, but I have some ideas.
Classics: Gone with the Wind (Margret Mitchell), Animal Farm (George Orwell), and Catcher in the Rye (J.D.Salinger)
Fantasy: I agree with Dockson, Brandon Sanderson is good, especially Mistborn. Another good author is Neil Gaiman, he wrote Stardust and Coraline.
The most recent book I finished was The Elegance of the Hedgehog (Muriel Barbary). It's quite philosophical and I enjoyed it quite a lot.
I also agree with 2leah2 about The Perks of Being a Wallflower, that is a very good book.
I am currently into Stephen King's books, though I haven't read much of his horror (I know, reading Stephen King and not his horror books). Long Walk is very entertaining, with a concept like The Hunger Games but with no fighting, the boys just walk, they don't do anything other than that. The Eyes of the Dragon was also really good, a short fantasy book. I am currently reading Gunslinger, a very confusing series by him which seems to be set in either a multi-universe or alternate reality world.
Of Sci-fi I recommend Ender's Game and the 3 books after that, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and The Children of the Mind (Orson Scott Card) and Ready Player One, a book set in the near future but focused on '80s culture (Ernest Cline).
